Training & Certifications

Take your business to the next level with the Training and Certification programs that are delivered by 6SS.

Milestone Training

Milestone Knowledge Program consists of different levels of trainings and certifications to increase your competency in Milestone’s XProtect® video management software (VMS) and teach you how to close deals with satisfied customers.

Milestone Solution Design

The Milestone Solution Design instructor-led training class provides attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to design Milestone XProtect® Advanced (XProtect® Expert and XProtect® Corporate) surveillance systems that effectively support customers’ surveillance objectives and optimize return on investment. Based on the Milestone Solution Design Model, the class presents relevant information and hands-on exercises to lead attendees through surveillance system design, focusing on the Milestone-specific components of the process.

Milestone Technical Configuration level one

In the Technical Configuration Level 1 training workshop, participants will learn how to install and configure the XProtect® Corporate VMS to specifications for realistic scenarios.
During the workshop, participants act as Integration Technicians to install the different XProtect Corporate VMS components to accommodate a customer’s business needs. This includes detailed steps on how to configure various hardware, product specifications, and real-world requirements. At the end of the workshop, participants will set up a new XProtect Corporate VMS using a detailed specification.

Milestone Technical Configuration level two

In the Technical Configuration Level 2 training workshop, participants are introduced to real-life scenarios that use advanced features of the XProtect® Corporate VMS.
During the workshop, participants act as Integration Engineers to modify and expand an existing XProtect Corporate VMS configuration to accommodate a customer’s evolving business needs, as well as demonstrate what each modification accomplishes. New requirements and requests introduce layers of complexity into surveillance installations, which increases participants’ skills in handling challenging scenarios.

Milestone Operator Training

In the Milestone Operators training workshop, participants are introduced to real-life scenarios that use features of the XProtect® Smart client.
During the workshop, participants will be asked to operate a system that is already configured by their administrator from a specific case. Participants will learn how to search quickly for a specific camera and explore what options they have for each view as well as for each camera so they can react swiftly in case of an incident and use the system intuitively.

System Design Advanced JVSG

This course allows participants to design a modern video surveillance and security system and deliver the documentation necessary to move forward with implementation.  Participants will go in depth into system design using the industry standard JVSG IP Video Design tool and will each receive a single license for a “JVSG Basic Version”.

During the technical part, participants will learn how to increase the efficiency of a security system while lowering costs through finding the best camera locations and types for those locations.

Details include:

  • How to calculate the precise camera lens focal length and viewing angles in just a few seconds.
  • How to check the field of view of each camera and find dead zones to increase the security of your premises by using 2D and 3D modeling.
  • Get estimations of required network bandwidth for any number of IP cameras and video servers.
  • Calculate the required HDD storage space for video archives.
  • Load site plan / floor plan JPEG, PNG or BMP background images from Vision or Google Earth.
  • Import AutoCAD DWG drawings (Pro) or backgrounds from PDF files.
  • Print or export your project to PDF.
  • Copy your calculations, drawings and 3D mockups to MS Word, Excel, Visio or other software in order to create a professional documentation.

Networking Fundamentals

Basic network fundamentals are essential in today’s security markets.  If you are an individual or company who has limited IT experience, but you find yourself working increasingly more and more with IP network connected devices instead of simple plug & play devices, then this is the perfect course for you. Suitable for the beginner to intermediate level of IT knowledge.

During the technical part, participants will be familiarized with the LAN (Local Area Network), Network Topologies and Access Methods.  The OSI model, layered switches, media types, wireless networking, IPV4 vs IPV6, TCP/IP commands, Network Services & Name Resolution, Routers & WAN (Wide Area Network), Internet & Extranet will all be covered in depth.

An Online Certification Exam can be taken at the end of the training.
